Ylenia Deriu’s “Carabus Glabratus” earrings are part of Elitre, a project of contemporary jewelry born in a Natural History Museum and inspired by the elytra of the beetles. Carabus glabratus is a European Boreo-arctic Montane species widespread in central and northern Europe north to the Arctic Circle. It is a black beetle with a smooth, oval elytra.
